Animal: Triptii Dimri Reacts to Instagram Follower Spike, Reveals ‘Family Is Keeping Track…’ | Exclusive

Post Animal success, Triptii Dimri is being hailed as the national crush of India.

Triptii Dimri talks about the sudden jump in her Instagram follower count post success of Animal. She also says that she wasn’t seeking this kind of stardom.

Triptii Dimri might have had ‘a small role’ in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal but the impact her character has left cannot be ignored. She is being hailed as the latest ‘national sensation’ and the ‘national crush of India’. Not only is the fee she has charged for the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial making headlines but the exponential jump in her Instagram followers is grabbing attention too. As per reports, her follower count has increased by 320 per cent in the last few days and she now enjoys a following of 3.8 million as opposed to six lakh followers (which she had until last month).

In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Triptii talks about this sudden increase in her Instagram following that has left the internet talking. “My friends and family are keeping a track on my follower count. They keep sending me screenshots every now and then. In fact, every night, I’ve been checking messages on Instagram. It’s a wonderful feeling. You obviously feel great when people watch something you’ve done and they like and appreciate your performance in it. I’m in a good space,” she beams.

Triptii started her career with the forgettable Poster Boys (2017) but it was Laila Majnu (2018) that gave her critical acclaim. She followed it up with laudable performances in Bulbbul (2020) and Qala (2022) but it is Animal that marks her first brush with mainstream, commercial success. Though ‘overwhelmed’ with it, she reveals that she wasn’t looking for this kind of attention. “I just wanted to do Animal because the character was interesting. Achieving this kind of success wasn’t a plan. It just happened and I feel very lucky and grateful. I’m not seeking stardom,” she avers.

And she wouldn’t want this euphoric success to get to her head. What, in fact, makes her even more joyous is that the chatter around her work in Animal is drawing more audience’s attention to her earlier works. But being level-headed is her mantra and speaking about it, she opines, “Acting is a part of my life and not my whole life. I’ve my family, friends, myself and then comes acting. I want to come to a point where I can balance it all and live a happy and healthy life. I don’t want to give my hundred per cent to something and not give anything to the other parts of my life.”

Triptii, who will next be seen in a rom-com titled Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam opposite Vicky Kaushal, continues, “Few years down the line, I don’t want to look back and feel sad about not being able to attend my best friend’s wedding or my brother’s graduation. What’s the point of losing out on life while chasing one thing? The balancing act gets difficult because you need to prioritise certain things over others at different points in your life. But the idea is to be aware.”
