John Abraham Says SRK’s Pathaan Brought ‘Respect And Glory’ Back To The Industry: ‘I Will Always…’
The film made an overall gross collection of Rs 543 Crore in India.
John Abraham expressed his emotions as the mega blockbuster Pathaan completed one year.
Last year, Siddharth Anand’s action entertainer Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan in the title role emerged as a box office disruptor as it grossed Rs 1050.30 crore at the worldwide box office. It finally put an end to the drought Bollywood was going through in the post-pandemic world. Besides SRK, the film also featured John Abraham as the leading antagonist. As the film completed one year today, the actor shared how Pathaan brought glory to the entertainment industry.
Speaking with the news agency ANI, John Abraham shared, “Pathaan’s anniversary will always be nostalgic for me personally and also for the Hindi film industry because this was the film that made us as an industry bounce back. This film brought a lot of respect and glory back to the industry.”
He added, “I will always have extremely fond memories of Pathaan for this reason because this industry is my home. The amount of love I have got for Pathaan is incredible.”
Recently, Siddharth Anand recalled the euphoria around Pathaan during an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha. He told us, “There’s no way I could’ve imagined that Pathaan would be a mammoth success, even in my wildest dreams. It came at a time when Hindi films weren’t doing well and Bollywood was written off. And then came Pathaan which shattered every norm and box office record – left, right and centre.”
Pathaan is an action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra. It is the fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, with Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in significant roles. The story revolves around Pathaan, a skilled agent who worked for RAW but chose a different path due to certain reasons. The plot is set when India revoked Article 370 for Jammu & Kashmir. The cast also includes Salman Khan, Viraf Patel, and others. The movie was released on January 25, 2023.
