The film The Test, featuring Nayanthara, Madhavan, Siddharth and Meera Jasmine and directed by producer Sashikanth, has completed its shooting. Nayanthara celebrated the milestone by sharing a wrap-up video on her social media, captioning it, “And it’s a wrap #TheTest.”
Focusing on the cricketing world, the film The Test signifies the second collaboration between Madhavan and Siddharth, who shared the screen earlier in Mani Ratnam’s Ayutha Ezhuthu.
According to IMDb, The Test unfolds a story where the lives of three individuals become entwined during a crucial international cricket test match in Chennai, compelling them to confront impactful and challenging decisions.

In the upcoming sports drama, actor Siddharth takes on the role of Arjun, a cricketer, in a narrative set against the backdrop of an international Test cricket match. Plot details have been kept under wraps by the filmmakers, and the movie is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024. It will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam as well as in Kannada.
The Test is penned by Suman Kumar and directed by S Sashikanth. This film marks his directorial debut. Previously, S Sashikanth has produced several films. Some of his noteworthy productions include both Hindi and Tamil versions of Vikram Vedha, Iruddhi Suttru, Guru (a remake of Iruddhi Suttru), Kaaviya Thalaivan, and more. Interestingly, Sashikanth made a mark with the film The Test.
R Madhavan is set to appear in the upcoming Bollywood film Shaitaan, alongside Ajay Devgn and Jyotika. Meanwhile, Siddharth is slated to star in Shankar’s pan-India film Indian 2, a sequel to the blockbuster Indian.
Nayanthara is best known for films including Jawan, Aramm, Irumugan and Naanum Rowdy Thaaan. Soon, Nayanthara is going to star in the sequel to Thani Oruvan, titled Thani Oruvan 2, opposite Jayam Ravi.
