This 2010 Prabhas-starrer Was First Offered To Rana Daggubati

Actor Prabhas, who is busy with his upcoming film Kalki 2898 AD, is yet again grabbing headlines. He is now garnering attention for his 2010 romantic flick Darling.
The makers cast Prabhas in the leading role but did you know that they first approached Rana Daggubati for the same? Reports reveal that Daggubati was initially slated to star in the film, but due to unforeseen circumstances, Prabhas was cast.
Darling became the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2010. Directed by A Karunakaran, the film also starred Kajal Aggarwal and Prabhu in pivotal roles.
Prabhas is currently busy with his upcoming films. One of them, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, has been shot. The film is set to hit theatres on May 9. Kalki 2898 AD features a star-studded ensemble including Deepika Padukone with the veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. Latest reports reveal that Jr NTR and Nani have also joined the cast.
According to reports, Vijay Deverakonda will also be making a special guest appearance in the movie. It’s speculated that Junior NTR might play Parashuram, while Nani is rumoured to portray Kripacharya in climax scenes.
Prabhas will also be seen in films such as The Raja Saab, Spirit, Ravanam, Kannappa, an untitled project with Srikanth Odela, and a film with Sree Leela. He last appeared in Salaar.
Directed by Maruthi Dasari, The Raja Saab is touted to be a horror-comedy. Prabhas is expected to portray a fresh and unique character. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, the film has Malavika Mohanan as the leading lady. With music scored by Thaman, the cinematography of the film is handled by Karthik Palani.
On the other hand, Rana Daggubati is best known for films like Leader, Baby, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and Baahubali: The Beginning. The actor has a few films lined up including Vettaiiyan, Vishwambara, Kalki 2898 AD, and Rakshasa Raja, to name a few.
