Shaitaan Box Office Collection Day 4: Does Quite Well On Monday, Set For A Long Innings
As expected, Shaitaan has held up quite well on Monday. It was mentioned in this column that if the film manages a score of around 7 crores on Monday, it would be quite good. Reason being that Friday was a partial holiday and had brought in 15.21 crores. Hence, even if there is a 50% drop on these numbers on Monday, in real value the drop would be actually lesser. This is what happened as 7.81 crores came in on Monday, and that indicates a very good hold.
The footfalls are actually quite good because the ticket rates are anyways down during the weekdays, which means in terms of audience traction, it’s quite steady right at the onset of the weekdays. The word of mouth has, in fact, just started spreading for the film which means while the rest of the weekdays would be steady as well and are expected to stay over the 6 crores mark right till Thursday, the real game would be evidenced in the second weekend.
For word-of-mouth films like Shaitaan, it has been seen that Friday to Friday drop is only around 40%-50% and that’s what seems to be on the cards here. Moreover, second Saturday jumps have started turning out to be much better than the way used to be pre-pandemic, which means Shaitaan is in for a long haul now.
Trending
The Ajay Devgn and Madhavan starrer has now crossed the 60 crores mark and currently stands at 62.94 crores. 80 crores mark would be comfortably crossed by the close of the first week, and then entering into the 100 Crore Club would be a cakewalk well within the second weekend itself.
