It helped both the releases to grab momentum and emerge as blockbusters.

Talking about the latest collection update, Oppenheimer raked in $55,355 on its 243rd day at the North American box office. On the other hand, on the same day, Madame Web earned $50,273. For the Dakota Johnson starrer, it was day 35 on discount Tuesday. It’s literally a surprising trend, and it has to do with some momentum that was provided by Oscar’s victories.

Currently, Oppenheimer is running in 1,323 theatres, while Madame Web is running in 1,058 theatres at the North American box office, reports Collider.

Globally, Christopher Nolan’s directorial has amassed $960.40 million at the worldwide box office, which includes $329.83 million from the domestic and $630.56 million from the overseas market. For the unversed, the film is scheduled to release in Japan on March 29, and there’s a strong chance of hitting the $1 billion mark globally. Let’s see if it happens.

Meanwhile, Oppenheimer bagged seven trophies in total at the 96th Oscars. The film emerged victorious in the Best Picture category.
