Madgaon Express Box Office Collection Day 2: Grows Well On Saturday
After opening at 1.63 crores on Friday, all eyes were on how well Madgaon Express would grow on Saturday. After all, the audience response to the film has been good, and while the start has been fair, it definitely requires a lot more moolah to come in over the weekend so that it can consolidate further from Monday onwards. There was a BOGO offer on Friday, and then with some conditions, it was extended to Saturday as well, which would have given some sort of additional push to the film. Still, it needed to have something in there for the audience to cheer about.
Thankfully, that did happen with the Kunal Kemmu directorial debut outing ending up growing well and bringing in 2.72 crores. Now, pre-pandemic, this would easily have been the first day collections for the film, but then these are different times with OTT as a huge alternative available as well, which means audiences wait for word of mouth to kick in. This is what has helped the comedy to see a good increment in numbers on Saturday, and now all involved with the film would be hoping for a similar kind of jump to come in all over again on Sunday too.
There is a chance that this can actually happen since tomorrow is Holi and hence tonight, the evening and night shows would be better than how they are on a usual Sunday when people have to go to work/school/college the next day.

In this case, there is the benefit of an extended weekend for Madgaon Express, and this should help push the numbers ahead of the 4.35 crores that it has collected so far. If somehow the collections end up being in and around the 3.50 crores mark on Sunday then that would set it up well for at least an overall decent first week.
