Madgaon Express Box Office Collection Day 7: Goes Up On Thursday, Closes Week One Around 14 Crores
After opening at 1.63 crores on Friday, Madgaon Express managed to keep collecting over 1 crore on a daily basis with Thursday numbers coming to 1.30 crores. The best part is that the numbers have gone up over Wednesday collections of 1.21 crores. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday the film did stay in that 2.70-2.80 crores range throughout. This is when it seemed that the film may just about break out. In fact had it stayed in that 2 crores+ zone right till the end of the week then it would have been really fabulous.
The Kunal Kemmu film in fact deserves to play in that zone. It could well have gone into that Fukrey zone as it has a lot of funny elements in there. Thankfully, it didn’t go down steeply either and managed to stay consistent with fair numbers. However, with Crew and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire coming today, both of which are carrying very good reports and are set to open quite well, Madgaon Express will be challenged at least today and then the hope would be that it does rise to some extent at least tomorrow and day after.
So far, the film has collected 13.83 crores and while it should stretch itself towards the 20 crores mark for sure, it actually deserves a 40 crores lifetime at least. In fact the film concluded with a promise of a sequel and one hopes that when it arrives on OTT (where it will certainly get an even better response), then the makes indeed take this one to the next instalment too.
