Storm Reid, at the premiere of Challengers on April 16, said, ‘We’re on pause right now, but we’re anxious to get back’.
The upcoming third season of HBO’s hit series, Euphoria has fans eagerly waiting for the news about the fate of their beloved characters. However, the filming for the same hit a pause button, allowing Sam Levinson to rewrite the scripts. Days after reports surfaced indicating that the script for season 3 is still in the works, Storm Reid, who played Zendaya’s sister in the series, hinted at the possible return of the show.
Storm Reid, while speaking to E! News at the premiere of Challengers on April 16, said, “We’re on pause right now, but we’re anxious to get back.” She added, “If it’s meant to be, we’ll be back soon and we’ll give the audience what they want and deserve. Hopefully, we will be back.”
Heaping praises on her co-star Zendaya, Storm further said that she gets euphoric every time her co-star’s OOTD from the Challengers press tour appears on her feed. Calling herself a fan of the Dune actress, she added, “I follow her, I follow her stylist, I follow people close to her,” she quipped. “I’m still a fangirl in that way.”
Coming back to Euphoria, the last season of the show aired over two years ago. The star cast of the show including Zendaya, Anyone But You actress Sydney Sweeney, Saltburn fame Jacob Elordi, Colman Domingo, and Storm Reid, among others immediately shot to prominence after its release. As fans anticipated the third season, HBO confirmed the delay in its production due to the challenge of coordinating with these busy actors.
However, earlier this year in March, the makers of the show were quoted by Variety as saying, “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
Created by Ron Leshem, Euphoria won nine Primetime Emmy Awards, among several other accolades. Led by Zendaya, the show deals with the complexities faced by high school students in their daily lives like addiction, drug abuse, sexual identity, teenage sex, hookup culture, self-harm, mental health, and dating violence, among others.
