Anant Ambani, Radhika Merchant Wedding To Happen In Mumbai On July 12, Reception on July 14 | Exclusive
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, will tie the knot at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on July 12.
Guests have started receiving the ‘Save The Date’ invitation, which is a traditional red and gold card, disclosing some details of the three-day function.
The main wedding ceremonies will start on July 12, with the auspicious Shubh Vivah or wedding function. Guests have been advised the dress code will be Indian traditional. July 13 will be the day of Shubh Aashirwad and the dress code has been advised as Indian formal. July 14 will be the Mangal Utsav or the wedding reception and the dress code is advised as ‘Indian chic’.
All these functions will be held at the Jio World Centre in BKC. The main wedding functions and ceremonies will be performed to as per the traditional Vedic Hindu standards.
Radhika Merchant is the daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., and entrepreneur Shaila Merchant.

Earlier this year, the couple had hosted business leaders from around the world, heads of state, as well as Hollywood and Bollywood stars in Jamnagar for pre-wedding festivities.

Other well-known film personalities invited for the event were Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, and Madhuri Dixit.
In her first performance in India, pop star Rihanna had set the stage on fire on on Day 1 of the celebrations.
‘A Walk on the Wildside’ with ‘jungle fever’ as the suggested dress code and ‘Mela Rouge’, a potpourri of desi activities in the guests’ favourite south Asian attires, were the major themes the next day.
Besides Rihanna’s performance, the highlights of the three-day event included world-renowned illusionist David Blaine mesmerising the guests. Blaine’s feats were followed by sangeet performances by family and friends, including Bollywood stars, of the bride and groom-to-be. A performance by actor-singer Diljeet Dosanjh also enthralled the guests.
Anant-Radhika Love Story
Anant Ambani completed his studies at Brown University in the US and has since served at Reliance Industries in various capacities, including as a member on the Boards of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures. He currently leads the energy business of RIL.
Radhika Merchant is a graduate of New York University and serves as a Director on the Board of Encore Healthcare. She is also a trained Indian classical dancer and delivered her first on-stage dance performance, better known as ‘Arangetram’, in June last year.
Anant and Radhika have been friends since childhood. It was in 2018 that people came to know about their relationship. A photo of them lost in each other’s eyes surfaced online and went viral which brought their bond into the spotlight.
Although the couple had not shed light on their relationship at the time, Radhika would often attend the Ambani family’s intimate events. She was present at Isha Ambani’s wedding with Anand Piramal, which took place in 2018, and Akash Ambani’s wedding with Shloka Mehta, which happened in 2019.

The roka ceremony of Radhika and Anant was performed at the Shrinathji Temple at Nathdwara in Rajasthan in December 2022. Anant and Radhika’s Gol Dhana ceremony took place on January 19, 2023. The engagement ceremony took place at the Ambani residence, Antilia, and many Bollywood stars attended the ceremony to bless the couple, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Shreya Ghoshal, Rajkumar Hirani, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
