Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is known for his flawless acting and candid off-screen persona. Recently, in an interview, he spoke about his daughter Shora Siddiqui. She is 14 years old at present. Nawazuddin revealed that she wants to become an actress. He said: “My daughter is taking training right now. She herself went and got admitted to the performing art faculty, haath jod ke teacher ke saamne [with folded hands in front of her teacher] she said, ‘I want to learn acting’.” Nawazuddin Siddiqui explained that in that department in Shora’s school, they will be performing a play in the final year, for that they’ll have to stitch their own costumes, do the carpentry work themselves for the props that will be used, take care of the lighting and many such other activities. “This is the kind of rigorous training she is taking. She is doing all of this by herself,” he added.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui further mentioned that Shora is doing it independently and for the longest time, even he didn’t even know that she got through the performing arts faculty. He said he didn’t even know what all workshops she has been doing, as she attends many of them. He revealed that now she is doing the summer workshop.
Nawazuddin also mentioned that Shora watches one film every day. “It’s like that, it’s her passion, so what can I say?’.” he concluded.
Earlier this year, Nawazuddin Siddiqui revealed in an interview that he will never ask for work. He said, “If I don’t have work tomorrow, I don’t even have the strength to go and ask for it. I can’t come to you and say, ‘Give me work.’ I will sell my house, my shoes and everything and make a film on my own. I am so confident about that. I can’t do that in my life. Acting is important, but acting in films is not. I will do it on the streets, trains or bus.”
