Earlier this week, Sharmin Segal also clarified that she shares a “cordial” relationship with her Heeramandi co-star Aditi Rao Hydari.
Sharmin Segal has been making headlines ever since the release of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial was criticised by many. Later, the actress was also accused of being arrogant and disrespectful towards her co-stars, especially Aditi Rao Hydari and Sanjeeda Shaikh. Recently, Sharmin opened up about the same and claimed that her interviews were taken ‘out of context’ to make her look like a ‘disrespectful person’.
Sharmin recalled the interview in which she called Aditi Rao a “school girl” and revealed that before starting the conversation, they were told that it would be a roast. “Things are being taken out of context to the point where they are trying to make me look like a disrespectful person to my co-stars or arrogant or rude, which is not the equation I share with any of my co-stars,” she told India Today.
“There was this one interview that came out where I think I called Aditi a school girl and that was actually… we were told in the beginning of that interview that it was a roast. In that same interview, Richa has looked at me and said ‘acha tujhe khana bhi banana aata hai? (You know how to cook?)’ So in that interview, that also got taken out of context that Richa is roasting Sharmin and making fun of her,” the actress added.
Earlier this week, Sharmin was speaking to Zoom when she clarified that she shares a “cordial” relationship with Aditi Rao and urged people to watch her full interviews rather than judging her based on 10-second edited clips. “Some of my co-stars have spoken graciously as to how these interviews were taken out of context. I share a very cordial equation with both Aditi and Sanjeeda. I wish that people would not use 10-second out-of-context clips to define the relationship I share with them,” she said.
