Both Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan have reportedly waived spousal support, successfully avoiding a trial that had been set for December.
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan have officially settled their divorce six years after their initial separation. The couple, who once won hearts as one of Hollywood’s most beloved pairs, have now formally concluded their lengthy legal proceedings. This settlement brings closure to years of back-and-forth negotiations and clears the path for both to move forward in their lives. As part of the settlement, both Tatum and Dewan have reportedly waived spousal support, successfully avoiding a trial that had been set for December.
By agreeing to settle outside of court, the pair has bypassed what could have been a high-profile and potentially contentious legal battle. Tatum, now 44, and Dewan, 43, initially split in 2018 after nearly nine years of marriage. Dewan filed for divorce from Tatum in October of that same year. The duo first met in 2006 on the set of Step Up, a dance film that helped launch both of their careers. After a whirlwind romance, they became engaged two years later and exchanged vows in an intimate Malibu ceremony in 2009. Their daughter, Everly, born in 2013, is now 11 years old, reports People.
While their divorce may have taken years to finalise, the proceedings were made more complicated by disagreements over the profits from Tatum’s hugely successful Magic Mike franchise. The franchise, which became a box office hit and later inspired a live show, took off while Tatum and Dewan were still married. Dewan’s legal team consistently argued that the film series was developed during their marriage and that marital funds were used to co-finance the project. Tatum’s attorneys, however, maintained that he had never hidden financial assets or denied Dewan her rightful share of the community property or income, informs People.
The conclusion of this financial dispute was a significant factor in resolving the overall divorce settlement.
Tatum has since moved on and is currently engaged to actress Zoe Kravitz, who directed him in the film Blink Twice. The couple has been romantically involved since 2021, with Tatum making headlines for his public admiration of Kravitz on several occasions. Dewan, meanwhile, is engaged to actor Steve Kazee. The pair share two children together: Callum, now 4 and their newborn daughter, Rhiannon, who was born in June 2024.
Despite the conclusion of their legal marriage, Tatum and Dewan had already been declared legally single by a judge in November 2019. A source close to Dewan revealed to People in April that she was eager to have the divorce completely settled before she and Kazee exchanged wows. “Jenna wanted her divorce from Channing settled before she gets married again,” the source shared.
