Jigra Movie Review:

Jigra Movie review; starring Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina

This Vasan Bala directorial works beautifully because the emotional core of Jigra is strong. Alia Bhatt gives an intense, layered performance as the steely-eyed Satya. She keeps the atmosphere emotionally charged – switching from cold determination to ferocious rage as her protective streak gets triggered.

Alia excels as an action heroine in the latter half, and if this is what is in store, then Alpha is going to be a treat!

The gorgeous Vedang Raina shows immense potential. The guy can act… he brings out the vulnerabilities of Ankur convincingly. It complements Alia’s fierceness wonderfully, making their sibling chemistry work like a charm. Vedang is a promising, young face to look out for indeed!

The film is a little uneven in the 1st half and takes time to hit its stride but the 2nd half packs a solid punch. Especially the impressive climax fight sequence – where music, action and emotion blends in an intriguing, poetic shot.

Manoj Pahwa is endearing in his role and adds some light-hearted moments to balance out the intensity of Alia’s character.

Overall, Jigra is worth watching in the theatres!
