Tamil action drama Vettaiyan was set for massive milestones at the worldwide box office. Starring Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan in the leading roles, the action drama suffered due to negative word of mouth. Despite all odds, it continued to add moolah and has now achieved a huge mark. Scroll below for the latest updates on day 15.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan was expected to revive the massive losses suffered by Lyca Productions in the past. Their past collaborations with Rajinikanth – Lal Salaam, 2.0, and Darbar were not very fruitful. However, due to the massive budget of 300 crores, their latest association will be another failure added to the list.

Domestic Box Office Collection Day 15

On the third Thursday, Vettaiyan made a box office collection of 1.45 crores in all languages in India. Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan’s film faced mid-week blues with a fall of around 14%. The domestic total now comes to 143.18 crores net. Including taxes, the cumulative sum stands at 168.95 crores gross.

Worldwide Day 15 Earnings

The overseas run is nearing its end. There’s been no major growth on day 15, and the total international sum is 81.50 crores gross.

Vettaiyan has raked in 250.45 crores at the worldwide box office.

Achieves the 250 crore mark!

As they say, “better late than never.” Ideally, Rajinikanth’s film should have achieved the 250 crore milestone much before at the worldwide box office. But it has finally happened, which is a good thing.

The lifetime is now expected to wrap up in the vicinity of 275 crores. The earnings are largely dependent on the domestic circuit. But there’s scope only until Diwali as many big movies will soon be arriving in theatres.
