On Monday afternoon, the iconic trio—Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty—were spotted at Kalina airport in Mumbai, sparking excitement as they headed to the shoot location. Dressed sharply, the actors hinted at the return of their beloved characters from the franchise.
The actors made a stylish appearance as they departed for their flight, as seen in the video shared by Sneh Zala. Akshay Kumar looked sharp in checkered pants paired with a black shirt, while Paresh Rawal sported a casual shirt and jeans, and Suniel Shetty looked suave in white pants and a T-shirt. The official announcement for Hera Pheri 3 came nearly two years ago, back in February 2023. At the time, Akshay, Paresh, and Suniel had donned their character costumes to film an announcement video. However, the video was never released, and updates on the film remained scarce. This latest sighting of the trio together has reignited hope among fans, signaling that the movie is now officially in motion.
The Hera Pheri franchise, consisting of Hera Pheri (directed by Priyadarshan) and Phir Hera Pheri (directed by Neeraj Vora), has achieved cult status over the years. Both films have not only entertained audiences but have also become iconic in popular culture, with their memorable scenes and dialogues dominating social media memes. The first installment was released in 2000, and its sequel followed in 2006, leaving fans eagerly awaiting a third chapter.
Film producer Firoz Nadiadwala, known for his work on Hera Pheri, has recently regained the rights to his film portfolio after resolving a legal dispute with Eros. “Firoz Nadiadwala has settled his financial obligations with Eros, successfully regaining the rights to his portfolio of films, including the much-awaited Hera Pheri,” shared a source.
Another insider added, “Firoz has cleared his dues and obtained a No Due Certificate from the court, allowing him to reclaim the rights to Hera Pheri and other films. He is now free to proceed with these projects at his discretion and is eager to return to entertain the audience.”
Hera Pheri 3 is reportedly a passion project not only for Firoz Nadiadwala but also for the original trio—Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. “They’re all thrilled that the focus can now shift to the creative aspects and logistics required to bring the film to life,” the source continued. Firoz is also expected to meet with the Hera Pheri team in the coming weeks to discuss plans for the third installment.
