Mumbai’s BIGGEST IMAX screen at Imax Wadala to reopen as Miraj Cinemas
IMAX Wadala to reopen:
The biggest IMAX screen in Mumbai, IMAX Wadala, shut its doors for cine-goers during the pandemic, and all Mumbaikars lost one of the best IMAX experiences at the movies. However, there is good news for cine lovers, and especially those who preferred IMAX Wadala.
IMAX Wadala, which was previously with Big Cinemas and Carnival Cinema, will reopen tomorrow, November 14, 2024, with a new name and new brand. Miraj Cinemas has bought the property and redecorated the entire place now. The IMAX screen here is huge and entitled to provide a grand movie experience to all.
The IMAX screen size here is 40.2 feet x 70.4 feet, making it the BIGGEST IMAX screen in Mumbai. Currently, there are a total of 5 IMAX screens in Mumbai: PVR Kotak in Lower Parel, PVRInox Maison in BKC, INOX R-city in Ghatkopar, INOX Megaplex in Malad, and IMAX Wadala has the biggest IMAX screen size amongst them all. It was also the first IMAX screen to open in Mumbai back in the 2000s.
The seats available at the new IMAX screen of Miraj Cinema’s are approx. 340-350, while the total seats including all 5 screens (4 normal screens) are 1566. The other 4 screens will start functioning on Friday, November 15, 2024. The F&B area and the rest of the premises have a new look and new rates, of course.
