Hyderabad police arrested superstar Allu Arjun on December 13 in connection with a fatal stampede that occurred during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2.

The tragic incident, which unfolded on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre, resulted in the death of 35-year-old Revathi while her nine-year-old son, Sri Teja, was hospitalised due to asphyxiation.

The stampede was reportedly triggered by an overwhelming surge of fans attempting to gain entry to the theatre to catch a glimpse of the actor. Police officials stated they were not informed in advance that the Pushpa 2 team would be attending the event, leading to insufficient crowd management measures.

Allu Arjun Arrested Over Pushpa 2 Premiere Stampede
The Chikkadpally police have registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the management of Sandhya Theatre under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Section 105 pertains to culpable homicide not amounting to murder, while Section 118(1), read with Section 3(5), deals with voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
“A case has been filed based on the complaint from the family of the deceased. The investigation is ongoing, and stringent action will be taken against all those responsible for the chaotic situation that led to the death and injuries,” a police official confirmed.
On December 6, Allu Arjun had addressed the tragedy, expressing his condolences. He announced a donation of ₹25 lakh to the bereaved family as a goodwill gesture and also pledged to cover their medical expenses.
The investigation continues as authorities examine the circumstances that led to the stampede, raising questions about accountability and event management in high-profile public gatherings.
