The Diplomat is a recommended watch for John’s terrific performance as JP Singh, the second half soars and culminates into a thrilling climax. No songs, no tricks or distractions, the film’s razor-sharp focus on telling this real-life story is definitely applause-worthy.

The direct exchange between the Indian and Pakistani ministries, rather than the embassy simply relaying messages, could have heightened the intensity. However, the tense moments crafted are gripping enough to keep you engaged with bated breath. The compelling narrative and John Abraham’s performance make The Diplomat well worth watching.

Through the film we get to know how Uzma Ahmad was rescued because of the hugely brave efforts of the staff of the Indian Embassy, Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh (John Abraham) and the then External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj (Revathy). We also get to know how the situation got tensed up because of Kulbhushan Jadhav case and how it affected the Indo-Pak relationship. Not just the storytelling and the performances by all the actors; it’s a beautifully shot film with very fine camera work. The Diplomat is indeed an incredibly riveting cinema and a must-watch.

We have already mentioned every small and big aspect of the film above. ‘The Diplomat’ is one of the films showing John Abraham’s most impressive acting. If you are a patriot and a fan of John Abraham, then this film is a must-watch. Apart from this, the film should be given a chance because the work of the actors is excellent. There is no propaganda of any kind in the film, and a glimpse of Indian diplomacy is seen very closely. The film rightly deserves three out of five stars.

The Diplomat doesn’t play safe. With a detailed disclaimer, it uses the names of the real people involved in the case. It has a fleeting mention of Kuldeep Jadhav, a smart move indeed to make the audience feel a part of the setting and lay out the timeline without distorting it for entertainment purposes. The Diplomat reintroduces John as the hero the audience always loved. He should be making such script choices hereon. For Sadia, many doors are about to open
