Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday’s latest historical drama Kesari Chapter 2, is steadily gaining momentum at the box office.
The film wrapped up its opening weekend on a strong note, crossing the double-digit mark on its third day.
On Sunday, it witnessed a noticeable jump in collections. According to Sacnilk, the film earned ₹12.25 crore that day, bringing its total net collection in India to ₹29.75 crore.
According to official figures, Kesari 2 garnered ₹17.92 crore in its first two days. While the film has outperformed Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and Sarfira, it falls significantly short of his previous release, Sky Force. The January 2025 release had crossed the ₹60 crore mark within just three days. Kesari 2 also trails behind Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, but has still shown stronger performance compared to some of his more recent outings.

Although Kesari Chapter 2 has received fairly positive reviews, its box office performance hasn’t matched up to the success of its predecessor, Kesari, which had earned ₹56.56 crore during its opening weekend.
On Sunday, the film recorded an overall occupancy rate of 32.23%, with 3,992 shows screened across India. Chennai led with the highest occupancy at 72.25% across 47 shows. Hyderabad followed with 46.25% occupancy over 156 shows, while Bengaluru registered 43.50% across 269 screenings. In Mumbai, the film saw 28.75% occupancy with 796 shows, and in Delhi-NCR, it reached 35.25% occupancy across 950 shows.
Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and jointly produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films. The film features R Madhavan, Ananya Panday, Alexx O’Nell, and Regina Cassandra in key roles.
