In the wake of this horrific incident, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has reinstated its blanket ban on Pakistani artistes, singers, and technicians from participating in Indian entertainment projects.
FWICE issued a strong statement addressing the decision:
“FWICE reaffirms its unwavering commitment to national interest and solidarity. We reiterate our directive, originally issued on February 18, 2019, calling for complete non-cooperation with all Pakistani artistes, singers, and technicians within the Indian film and entertainment industry.”
Pakistani actor Fawad Khan was to make his Bollywood comeback in the Hindi film Abir Gulaal, where he was to star alongside Vaani Kapoor. FWICE clarified its stance in light of this development:
“We have been made aware of the recent collaboration with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan for the Hindi film Abir Gulaal. In light of the recent attack in Pahalgam, FWICE is once again compelled to issue a blanket boycott on all Pakistani artistes, singers, and technicians participating in any Indian film or entertainment projects. This includes performances or collaborations occurring anywhere in the world.”

The repercussions of the renewed ban have already begun to affect major cross-border projects. A Punjabi film starring popular Pakistani actress Hania Aamir and Indian singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has now been put on hold too.
Pakistani Actors React To Pahalgam Attack:
Fawad Khan, who was expected to mark his return to Bollywood with Abir Gulaal, responded to the tragic events with a message of empathy and support:
“Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident, and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time.”
Hania Aamir also shared her grief and solidarity on social media:
“Tragedy anywhere is a tragedy for all of us. My heart is with the innocent lives affected by the recent events. In pain, in grief, and in hope—we are one.
