A sensitive and talented Bihari boy named Sooraj (Ritvik Sahore) arrives with his mother (Rajeshwari Sachdev) in a Mumbai chawl. As an outsider and a newcomer, Sooraj encounters overwhelming challenges from school gangs that won’t allow him to play his game or be at peace.

Sooraj battles for his place under the sun in this Chidiakhana, while being pursued and surrounded. This is when he receives protection from an unexpected source, when a local chawl strongman (Prashant Narayanan) comes to his aid and gives wings to his modest hopes. Things begin to change for our underdog! The central theme of Chidiakhana, director Manish Tiwary’s third film after Dil Dosti Etc. and Issaq, is the tale of an underdog striving to overcome challenging circumstances with passion, grit and determination.
