A Feeble Attempt at Horror-Comedy

The Bhootnii Trailer:

The Bhootnii trailer, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Mouni Roy, Palak Tiwari, and Sunny Singh, was launched today. The trailer is disappointing for sure; moreover, one needs to look at the details that are affecting this newly emerging genre that is becoming too familiar.

Maddock found success with horror-comedy, and so did Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3, but the latter was bolstered by the franchise push. It has been proven that it is difficult for new films, and The Bhootnii is, of course, in the same league. Previous attempts like Phone Bhoot and Bhoot Police have shown us how poorly these films can turn out, and looking at the trailer, Bhootnii seems poised to be a new entry on the list.

The Bhootnii Trailer Review:

The trailer takes us into the horror world of a virgin ghost, and since it’s about virginity, a love story is necessary. The conflict between two lovers and the soul is inevitable, which makes it feel preachy. On top of that, the poor VFX and some bad jokes spoil it even more. We can only hope that the film will be better than this.

Directed by Sidhaant Sachdev, The Bhootnii is produced by Soham Rockstar Entertainment and Three Dimension Motion Pictures. The film releases in cinemas on April 18, 2025.
