Ameesha Patel Reveals Her Contact Name In Hrithik Roshan’s Phone, Says He Taught Her THIS Technique On Set?
In a recent conversation with Instant Bollywood, Ameesha Patel took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, reflecting on her debut film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and her camaraderie with Hrithik Roshan.
The Gadar 2 actress shared endearing anecdotes about their time on set, the quirky nickname she gave Hrithik, and how he helped her grasp essential acting techniques. She also revealed the interesting contact name Hrithik had for her in his phone.
Ameesha Patel Used To Call Hrithik Roshan ‘Pierce Brosnan’, ‘Mr. Greek God’
From the start, Ameesha had a unique moniker for her co-star. “From Day 1, I used to call Hrithik ‘Pierce Brosnan’ because he looked so similar to him. I used to say, ‘You’re like Bond, you’re a Superstar, you’re meant for the silver screen.’ I’d say, ‘Hrithik, trust me, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai is going to work.’ But even if it doesn’t, you’re still a superstar, remember that.”
Interestingly, she revealed that she was the first to coin the now-iconic ‘Greek God’ tag for Hrithik Roshan. “The Greek God tag came from me. I had dubbed him, you know, I used to call him Mr. Greek God,” Ameesha added with a smile.

Did Ameesha Ever Have A Crush On Hrithik?
When asked if she ever had a crush on her co-star, Ameesha was quick to clarify their equation. “No, I didn’t. Both of us had amazing chemistry; that’s why the film worked so beautifully. But we were too buddy-buddy.”

Ameesha Patel Is Saved As ‘Heroine’ On Hrithik Roshan’s Phone
The bond they shared extended beyond the set and into their phones, as Ameesha revealed the quirky contact name Hrithik has for her. “Till date, from then to now, Hrithik has my name saved on his phone as ‘Heroine’. It’s still ‘Heroine.’”
The actress also touched upon Hrithik’s family background in films and whether she ever felt intimidated by his industry experience. “I never had a complex about it, though; I was super confident. I had never faced a camera before. I signed the film, and within four days, I started shooting—like, four or five days! I didn’t have time to prepare, and I came from a totally different background. I was educated in…Economics, bio-genetics, and business…..none of that really mattered on set.”
Hrithik Roshan Taught Her What A ‘Double Take’ Was On Set
Ameesha fondly recalled how Hrithik generously shared his acting knowledge, helping her adjust to the nuances of filmmaking.
“Hrithik was an amazing teacher. There were so many things he taught me that I still go back to and use for my different films. Like one time, Hrithik asked me, ‘Ameesha, do you know what a double take is?’ He had taken all these acting, action, diction, and Bollywood dancing classes. I didn’t even know that term ‘double take.’ He said it’s one of the most important things an actor needs to know. It’s like when an actor says something in front of you and there’s a reaction, and you do this (she demonstrates) it’s called a double take. I had no clue what that meant until that day. I remember my first schedule; he taught me this, and I’m really thankful for it.”
