This Bollywood beauty had aspirations of becoming an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer at one point. Ironically, she fulfilled that dream by portraying the role of an IPS officer in a film. The adorable girl in the photo is Yami Gautam, renowned for her innocence and simplicity on screen. In this viral childhood picture, Yami is seen alongside her sister Surilie Gautam. Yami, with a boyish haircut, stands on the left, while her sister, beaming with a cute smile, is on the right.
It’s reported that she once aimed for an IPS career but on her father’s advice, she ventured into acting. Her journey in acting began when she moved to Mumbai at 20 and kickstarted her career with the television show Chand Ke Paar Chalo in 2008. Later, she landed the lead role in Raajkumar Aaryyan. Notably, her prominent television stint was on the show Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam, which aired on Colors channel.
Her entry into films came with the Kannada language movie Ullasa Utsaha in 2010. Yami marked her Bollywood debut in 2012 with Vicky Donor, opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. The film, directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by John Abraham, earned her the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut and a nomination at the 58th Filmfare Awards. Subsequently, she appeared in movies like Total Siyappa, Action Jackson, Badlapur, Sanam Re and Junooniyat.
Yami Gautam’s breakthrough role, as per reports, came in 2019 with Uri: The Surgical Strike, directed by Aditya Dhar and co-starring Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal and Mohit Raina. This film reportedly elevated her status in the industry.
