Christopher Nolan To Shoot The Odyssey At Goat Island
Star Hollywood filmmaker Christopher Nolan‘s next project after the super success of Oppenheimer (2023), The Odyssey, has gained substantial buzz even before filming begins. The filmmaker is set to start the shoot soon, and according to a report in Deadline, he will be shooting the film at a special location, also known as “Goat Island.”
The report confirms that part of The Odyssey will be shot on a Sicilian island called Goat Island. According to historians, this is the place where Odysseus landed and wandered. Nolan’s film is based on the same epic from Homer’s 8th Century BCE work.

Nolan will be shooting The Odyssey using brand-new IMAX film technology and is likely to film some of the big-budget epic in Sicily’s Eolian Islands, say sources. However, a significant portion of the mythical action movie’s Sicily shoot will take place in Favignana.
Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey is packed with a solid casting until, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron. Production is set to begin in the next couple of months, with the film scheduled for release on July 17, 2026.
