CID actor Shraddha Musale launches women empowerment initiative called Gravitas – Beyond Bollywood


The inaugural event featured engaging and motivating sessions by respected professionals such as Geetarsh Kaur, Parmita Katkar, and Bollywood makeup artist Ojas Rajani.

The trials and tribulations of life often leave many despondent. It’s in these times that you need someone to keep an arm around your shoulder and reignite your zest for life. Noted actor and model Shraddha Musale, best known for playing Dr. Tarika in CID and CJ in Miley Jab Hum Tum, has begun a social initiative for the welfare of women. However, the pearls of wisdom offered are not restricted to any particular gender.

Called Gravitas, Musale hosted the first-ever workshop on Saturday, 31 August, in Mumbai. This initiative is powered by FutureTayari, a leading soft skills development platform founded by Musale and her husband, Deepak Tomar. She is also the sister of acclaimed filmmaker Mikhil Musale, known for films such as Made in China (2019) and Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video (2023).

Apart from Musale, other motivational speakers included Parmita Katkar, International Image & Transformation Coach; Ojas Rajani, noted Celebrity Makeup Artist; Geetarsh Kaur, Etiquette and Grooming Coach; Munna Thakur, Fashion and Celebrity Photographer; and Manoshi Nath and Rushi Sharma, Celebrity Stylists. Fifty women participated in the event.

Katkar emphasized how no top female celebrity looks the way they do now, highlighting the need for women to embrace their natural beauty while working towards shaping their physicality and personality over time. Geetarsh Kaur drew applause from the participants for her pearls of wisdom, simplifying the difference between manners and etiquette, and entertained the audience with her beauty, charm, intellect, and witty stories. Ojas Rajani was simply herself, applying makeup while also entertaining with her comments on Bollywood celebrities, and mocking Western cosmetic brands for acting more like salesmen than serving clients.

Each speaker and each session was engaging and entertaining, with actors like Vaishnavi Dhanraj and Ansha Sayed also gracing the event.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, Shraddha Musale shared: “Gravitas is not just an event; it’s a movement designed to empower women to rise above the noise, make their voices heard, and command the respect they deserve. In today’s competitive world, women often find themselves undervalued or overlooked. Gravitas served as the need of the hour, designed to furnish women with essential skills and knowledge to create a polished and professional corporate appearance. This is just the beginning of our journey to redefine how women present themselves in the professional world, and I am confident that participants walked away with newfound confidence.”
