The booking for Coldplay’s fourth concert in Ahmedabad opened on November 16, 2024, at noon. However, fans faced long queues on BookMyShow, as they did for previous shows, with millions of people trying to secure tickets. The platform experienced heavy traffic, leading to frustration among many fans, particularly those who had already faced similar issues during the Mumbai ticket sales. The tickets for Coldplay’s previous three concerts in Mumbai, set for January 2025, were sold out in minutes, causing outrage over the black marketing of tickets. In response, BookMyShow has implemented a new virtual queue system to prevent unfair advantages for any users.
One X user wrote, “I got the queue, selected my seat at Q5, which was available, and clicking on pay, the screen went BnW. Couldn’t even click on back to get back on the longest queue again,watched seats fill up thru my laptop .Didn’t get.This is the worst thing to ever happen.”
Another wrote, “@bookmyshow again goofed-up, people in waiting room since 11am didn’t get a change where person getting in queue at 12.05 was having just in first 1000!!! isn’t this Official black marketing of tickets?”
Announcing the 2nd show in Ahmedabad, BookMyShow wrote, “Due to unprecedented demand, a 5TH SHOW has been added in India for Coldplay! Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 now on the 26 of JANUARY at Narendra Modi Stadium.-Waiting room for the second show goes live at 12.45 PM IST -Early access to the waiting room does not guarantee priority access in the queue.-Tickets go on sale at 1 PM IST -Once the sale begins, each user will be assigned a position in the queue through the automated queue randomisation.-Each user can book maximum 4 tickets across all Ahmedabad shows.”
Fans were ecstatic when Coldplay announced an additional show in Ahmedabad on January 25, 2025, and the tickets for the concert sold out within minutes. The band, consisting of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion, will perform their biggest show ever in Ahmedabad as part of their global tour. “The band will play their biggest ever show, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 25 January, 2025,” wrote Coldplay, while announcing the first Ahmedabad concert.
Coldplay is set to make history with their highly anticipated performances in India, and fans are incredibly excited! In addition to the newly added Ahmedabad shows, the band will perform at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 20, 2025.
