Crew Box Office Collection Day 1: Defies Expectations & Takes A Very Good Start!
Just as was the case with Shaitaan three weeks back, now Crew has also defied expectations at the box office. It was predicted in this column that the film will take a start of around 7 crores on Friday with a potential to go even higher. Well, the film has gone far ahead of the predicted number, what with 9.50 crores* coming in. This is a really good number for the film, and even if one account got the partial holiday of Good Friday, the footfalls are still very encouraging.
What has to be noted is that there was no reduction in ticket rates, no BOGO offer and nothing else introduced to boost the ticket sales. It was all organic, with the trailer being released, it being liked by the audience, and then the content being delivered as promised. The start of the film was on expected lines, and then the footfalls just kept growing with every passing show, so much so that, at least in Delhi NCR, even late-night shows were going houseful at many centers.
This Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon starrer has found appreciation which ranges from decent to very good, and that’s something which will allow it to pull off in days to come as well. The best part is that women are patronizing Crew as well, something that was evident in Friday footfalls, and when that happens, then there is always a very good chance for the numbers to keep coming.
