Crew Box Office Collection Day 3: Scores A Very Good Sunday, Should Hold Well In The Weekdays
It was a very good Sunday for Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon’s Crew, as 11.45 crores came in. The film has been seeing a constant rise in collections every day, and though it has not gone berserk, with the kind of opening that it has already managed [10.21 crores], all it needed was some sort of an upward trend, and that’s something which has happened indeed.
The fun entertainer has now reached 32.53 crores, which is what most would have expected it to reach after its first week. Given the state of the movies in recent times, when even 20-30 crores lifetime is coming at a premium, for a film to arrive and cross 30 crores at ease in the opening weekend itself shows clearly that when audiences decide to embrace a film, they do so whole-heartedly. All they need is a whiff of at least some sort of entertainment coming in, and once that happens with support from word of mouth, a film just takes off.
This is why it seems that Monday’s hold should be good for the film. Even if one accounts for the fact that there was a partial holiday on Friday, due to which collections bumped to 10.21 crores, around 4-5 crores should be on the cards today. If that indeed turns out to be the case, then one can expect a good run till Eid since there is no new movie on the coming Friday, which means Crew will stay on to be the first choice amongst Bollywood films for the audiences.
