Vishnu Manchu’s highly anticipated Telugu film, Kannappa, a fantasy drama directed by Mukhesh Kumar Singh, is generating significant buzz. Notably, Vishnu Manchu, who also penned the screenplay, portrays the titular role of the devoted Kannappa to Lord Shiva. The film’s first-look poster recently impressed the audiences, creating a viral sensation. Excitingly, superstar Prabhas is set to play the role of Lord Shiva. The latest update reveals actress Preity Mukhundhan as the leading lady, marking a significant addition to the cast. The Kannappa team officially welcomed Preity Mukhundhan through a post on Instagram, further intensifying anticipation for this cinematic venture.
While talking about the selection of the actress, Kannappa movie director Mukesh Kumar Singh that for Preity, this isn’t just her debut but a leap into the world of art and cinema. He praised that actress and said that she fits the role perfectly. Preity’s background as the Bharatnatyam dancer is expected to increase the artistic dimension of the movie and her character. While announcing her arrival, Kannappa makers said that they embrace the presence of Preity as she sets to debut with the movie.

Nupur Sanon, initially cast as the female lead, had to withdraw from the upcoming movie due to conflicting schedules. Actor Vishnu Manchu confirmed the development, prompting the search for a replacement actress. Produced by Mohan Babu under AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory, the film is centred around the folk tale of Kannappa, an atheist hunter turned devotee of Hindu god Shiva, renowned for offering his eyes to the deity. Manish Sharma and Stephen Devassay are onboard as the music composers for this project, adding to the anticipation surrounding the movie.
