Golden Global Glory for genius composer M M Keeravani (Tu Mile Dil Khile) as RRR wins Best Song Award for Naatu Naatu

Unassuming versatile Southside composer-singer M M Keeravani is evidently ecstatic, having won the coveted Golden Globe Awards 2023 for his composed regional song Natu Natu (meaning Dance, Dance shot in Ukraine) from the blockbuster movie RRR which has won the Best Song award! Unfortunately, the movie RRR could not win the Best Picture Non-English award but was highly appreciated for its classy content by the Jury and those who watched its preview-shows. Not surprisingly the entire cast and crew team is overjoyed especially the ‘Natu Natu’ singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava Incidentally the ensemble cast of RRR headlined by Southside superstars Ram Charan and Rama Rao (Jr. NTR) also includes Bolly mega-stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Shriya Saran.

Incidentally, RRR in Telugu stands for Roudram, Ranam, Rudhiram (Fierce, Death Blood) but jovial-natured showman film-maker S S Rajamouli said in a popular Hindi comedy TV show that RRR also represents Ram Charan, Rama Rao ( Jr.NTR), and Rajamouli.

For those, not so conversant with prolific award-winning genius composer-singer Keeravani’s Bollywood repertoire (he would also mention his composer’s name-credit as M.M.Kreem for Hindi movies) he has also composed (and sung) for various milestone Hindi movies. Some of his evergreen Hindi melody-evergreen chartbuster-songs include Tu Mile Dil Khile  (Criminal-1994) and  Gali Mein Aaj Chaand Nikla (Zakhm-1998), Chupp Tum Raho (Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin-1996) and Dil Mein Jaagi Dhadkan (Sur-The Melody of Life-2002).

The 80th Golden Globe Awards were held in Beverly Hills, California on Wednesday. The Globes gala, traditionally a raucous celebrity-packed event that kicks off the annual movie awards season, has not had its usual glitz for two years, due to the pandemic and revelations about their organizers’ lack of diversity and alleged ethical lapses. In contention this year was also Telugu title RRR, (Indian epic-action-drama-musical- mega movie) directed by SS Rajamouli. What makes the Best Song Golden Globe award 2023 extra-special is that the award for Naatu Naatu. overpowered the likes of global musical-icons like Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Rihanna in the same category.

Shah Rukh Khan tweets about RRR win: “Sir just woke up and started dancing to Naatu Naatu celebrating your win at Golden Globes. Here’s to many more awards & making India so proud!!,” Shah Rukh Khan tweeted to SS Rajamouli.

Ram Gopal Varma tweets about RRR win: “An outstanding achievement for my Kshana kshanam music director ⁦@mmkeeravaani⁩ ..His RRR song won the golden globes for best song in competition with Rihanna, Lady gags etc ..Hey Keeravani, Way To Go ..Keep Soaring!”

Some of the Important Golden Globe 2023 Awards:

• Best Picture Non English– RRR loses to 1985 from Argentina.
• Best Director– Steven Spielberg wins for The Fablemans.
• Best Actress – Limited Series, Anthology Series or TV Movie–Amanda Seyfried for The Dropout.
• Steven Spielberg’s The Fablemans also wins Best Motion Picture (Drama).
• Kevin Costner wins  for Best Actor – Television Series, Drama–Yellowstone.
• Cate Blanchett wins  for Best Actress for Tar– – Motion Picture, Drama.
