Sriimurali and Hariprriya-starrer Ugramm has completed ten years. It collected Rs 5.5 crore in the first week. The action drama opened to positive reviews. As per the director, every step of the movie taught him a life lesson. After the release of KGF, he was pained to see his first dream movie not reach the heights he expected it to, hence he decided to enhance the storytelling to suit Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran and even made changes to the story in his recently released movie Salaar.
Recalling his old days, director Prashanth Neel shared his experiences with the first film, which was ‘enough’. He claimed that Urgamm is the movie that brought about a change in the pattern of movie-making in the Kannada industry. Reportedly, the production was taking a lot of time than expected. While the initial team was formed already, he decided to form a new team and make the movie. As per reports, he also had to sell off a house for the movie.
When the movie was released, no one showed any support to distribute the movies. It was Darshan and Dinakar Thoogudeepa who decided to distribute the project under Thoogudeepa Distributors.
Anchor Anushree shared a video on Instagram that shows the celebration of 10 years of Ugramm as the star cast assembled for an episode. The caption read, “Ugramm 10 years Celebration Exclusive Episode with ‘The star maker’ Prashanth Neel.”
