TV actor Karan Patel has carved his niche in the world of entertainment with his good looks and fantastic acting skills. He has exhibited his talent in popular daily soaps like ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay’, ‘Kahanii Ghar Ghar Kii’, ‘Kasturi’, and ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’. After winning millions of hearts on TV, the actor is gearing up for his upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Darran Chhoo’. Recently, Karan sat for an interview wit Pinkvilla where he talked about his stardom. He also reflected upon the darkest phase of his life.
Karan Patel on baggage that comes with star status
Talking about his pursuit to attain the star status, the actor said that if one wants to become a star, he can’t be attached to too many things. He should be ready to lose and move ahead because that is the destination. The actor mentioned that he has learnt this from his inspiration, Shah Rukh Khan who once clearly said that he is not attracted to anything ‘mediocre’ as he has worked hard to achieve the stardom.”
Further in the interaction, Karan revealed that he finds it hypocritical if someone spend half of their life working hard to be famous and then crib about missing a ‘normal’ life. He added that he didn’t lose anything being a star. The actor also accepted that he has made many mistakes in the past but made made sure to learn from them and not repeat them.
Karan on toughest time of his life
Recalling his darkest phase, Karan disclosed that his TV show ‘Kasturi’ shelved because of his indisciplined conduct. He shared that he started considering himself as a superstar who runs the show. But his attitude became the reason for the show to shut down. The actor mentioned that he didn’t get work for more than 2 years as people didn’t want to work with him because of his behaviour.
Karan also addressed the allegations of consuming alcohol on the sets of a TV serial. He quoted, “Absolutely true! If you were stupid enough to do it, be strong enough to own it. I made all these mistakes but learned my lesson.”
For the unversed, Karan Patel’s forthcoming film ‘Darran Chhoo’ also stars Ashutosh Rana, Smriti Kalra and Saanand Verma. It is produced by his wife Ankita Bhargava and directed by Bharat Ratan. The film will hit the theatres on October 13, 2023.
