Karan Tacker Opens Up On Financial Struggle During Recession: ‘Had To Let Go Of My…’

Karan Tacker may be a renowned name in the TV and OTT world, but there was a time when he suffered a lot economically after his established business collapsed and he lost his house too. Recently, Tacker has opened up on his days of financial crisis.

Karan who made his acting debut with the TV show ‘Luv Ne Mila Di Jodi’ has suffered a lot before making it big in the industry. Opening up on his difficult times, the actor said that in the year 2008, a gust of wind came and took away everything from him. Karan’s business with his father had come to a halt due to the economic recession. Karan revealed that he had no plans to become an actor. He had talent, but no dream. But after facing a financial crunch, he somehow landed in modeling and acting.

Karan Tacker stated, “I was doing business with my father. In 2008, the world was hit by recession after which my business also came to a standstill. It became difficult to maintain the family. I started looking for a job. As per what I had studied, I was getting a monthly salary of Rs 25,000 which was very less for the debt incurred on our business during the recession.”

Karan told that he had to sell his shares at a loss. The actor quoted, “I had some clothes stores, which I shut down. I  remember I had no place to keep my stock. And so, I had to let go of all of it. I had left my house. I used to sell stock on ‘Buy 1 get 6 free’.”

Talking about how he became an actor, Tacker shared that he had started looking for a high paid job to run the family and clear the debt. “I needed money to survive. So, applied for the position of a purser in an airline as they used to get around Rs 1.5 lakh per month. In the mean time, I got an advertisement for a face cream brand. It fetched me Rs 3 lakh for 22 days 12 years back. That’s when I told my father that I will work in this field because it can get us out of this tough time.”

Karan Tacker has gained fame from shows like ‘Rang Badalti Odhni’ and ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Bahna. He was priased for his performance in ‘Special Ops’ and ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’. Karan also appeared in the film ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’.
