Laapataa Ladies Box Office Collection Day 2: Minimal Jump On Saturday For Kiran Rao’s Directorial
As expected, Laapataa Ladies showed some growth on Saturday. Given the kind of appreciation that it received from critics as well as a select set of audiences who watched it in theatres on Friday, it was always on the cards that there would be a growth in collections on Saturday.
What had to be seen was the kind of jump that takes place because it was going to be the key to how the film would behave in days to follow. Hence, an ideal jump would have been 75%-100%, which means collections going from 1.02 crore on Friday to 1.75-2 crore on Saturday.
Though that didn’t quite happen for Kiran Rao‘s directorial, the jump was there, hence resulting in 1.40 crore being collected. The film should further grow from here, and though another 50% odd growth would be ideal, it may turn out to be a stretch since, off late Sunday, growth has been relatively muted when compared to the way films used to grow pre-pandemic.
Trending
Typically, it’s more of a consolidation that takes place instead of a major jump. This means that 2 crore mark should still be crossed today, and anything more than that coming on Sunday would be nice to have. So far, the film by Aamir Khan‘s production house has collected 2.42 crore and is headed for 4.5 crore weekend.
