TV actress Shafaq Naaz has been working in the acting industry since a long time now. She has portrayed some memorable characters like Kunti in ‘Mahabharata’ and Mayuri in ‘Chidiya Ghar’. The actress is currently going through mental health crisis.
Shafaq opens up on her mental health issues
In a recent interview, Shafaq opened up on her struggles. She shared how she is under pressure after her actor-siblings, Falaq Naaz and Sheezan Khan, moved on in life and she is still stuck in the past. The actress said that having successful siblings makes it even more difficult for her. However, she was quick to add that there’s no iota of jealously or envy from her siblings. While Shafaq’s sister Falaq participated in ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’, her brother Sheezan is part of the ongoing season of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’.
Furthermore, the actress said that seeing everyone around moving on with life gives a weird feeling of being lost and not having a direction. Several questions come in mind like, ‘Where she is going’, ‘Where she stands in life’, ‘What is she doing with her life’. These emotions do hit often. Shafaq said in such a situation, it requires a lot of strength to vouch for others and clap for them.
Shafaq on how social media takes a toll her mental health
Talking about how social media creates a noise in her life, the actress stated that when she opens any social media app, she feels people are doing so much that it triggers her insecurities. Seeing good things happening with people and them moving ahead in life makes her feel left out. What makes things even worse is when people come to the comment section and make her feel bad with their harsh comments. ‘Kitni gandi lag rahi ho’, ‘Pehle better thi’ etc.. All her positive feelings get buried with such statements from netizens.
On a concluding note, Shafaq acknowledged that everyone comes with their own struggles and good things come at the right time. She said that problems arise when one starts comparing themselves with others. She mentioned how her sister had her own problems and she overcame them. So did Sheezan. So, she has also learned to take time andI wait for better things in life.
