Storyline:

The story follows Baani (Khushi Kapoor) and Gaurav (Junaid Khan), a young couple in love, who are eager to win her father’s approval for their marriage. However, there’s a twist—her father (Ashutosh Rana) agrees only on one condition: the couple must exchange phones for an entire day.

Loveyapa Movie Review:

Loveyapa Movie Review; Junaid Khan, Khushi Kapoor

At first glance, Loveyapa seemed destined for cringe territory, thanks to its underwhelming trailer. However, the film turns out to be a surprisingly entertaining rom-com, with a fair mix of humor, chaos, and emotions.

While some moments do lean into cheesiness, the movie manages to hold its own as a lighthearted yet relevant take on modern relationships and the role technology plays in testing trust.

Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, despite initial doubts, share an easy chemistry, appearing far more natural together than they did in the visibly awkward trailer.

Their comic timing is a bit uneven, but they shine in the emotionally charged scenes. Khushi shows marginal improvement from The Archies, shedding the awkwardness of her debut for a more natural, girl-next-door charm. She delivers the climax with conviction, proving her ability to handle intense emotions. However, her dancing remains a weak spot.

Junaid, following his promising debut in Maharaj, delivers a mixed performance. He struggles with comedy at times, occasionally slipping into exaggerated expressions, but excels in serious, dramatic moments where his potential truly shines. While his dancing still lacks finesse, his overall performance shows promise.

Loveyapa Movie Review:

Ashutosh Rana, as always, elevates the film with his veteran presence, while stand-up comedian Aaditya Kulshreshth and Kiku Sharda contribute to the goofiness, ensuring the humor doesn’t completely fall flat.

The soundtrack, unfortunately, remains generic, with the titular Loveyapa song still feeling painfully awkward. The dance sequences don’t help either.

Beyond the rom-com elements, the film subtly explores how technology shapes modern love—secrets hidden in phones, the blurred lines between digital personas and real-life relationships, and the paranoia that social media breeds. The central ‘phone swap’ premise may seem gimmicky at first, but it taps into a very real dilemma: how much privacy exists in a relationship, and what happens when digital footprints reveal more than expected?

Overall, Loveyapa is an entertaining, if slightly flawed, timepass rom-com to kick off Valentine’s week. While it doesn’t reinvent the genre, it delivers laughs, some genuine emotion, and a fun (if exaggerated) take on love in the digital age.
