Veteran actor, director and producer, Tinnu Anand has multiple hit films to his credit. He has majorly featured as a villain in films like ‘Major Saab’, ‘Shahenshah’, and ‘Kaalia’, and has won hearts with each of his portrayal. Back in 1989, the actor donned the hat of a filmmaker for a movie titled ‘Shanakht’. He roped in Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit for it. In a recent interview Radio Nasha, Tinnu recalled halting the shoot of ‘Shanakht’.
Tinnu recalls showing door to Madhuri
In the interaction, the director shared that on the very first day of ‘Shanakht’, he got into an ugly verbal spat with Madhuri over a scene. He told that he had narrated the entire sequence to the actress beforehand. It featured the hero tied with chains by the villains. To protect the protagonist, Madhuri had to offer herself to them and in doing so, she was supposed to remove her blouse on camera.
Tinnu had clearly told the actress that he is not going to hide anything behind a haystack and for the first time, they should see her in bra. The actress agreed to do the scene. But when the shooting began, she clearly said a ‘no’ to that particular scene.
The filmmaker persuaded her to stay true to her initial words but to no avail. Madhuri’s continuous denial to do the scene irked Tinnu to a level that he asked her to pack up and leave the film.
Later when Amitabh can to ask about the delay, the director told him about the actress’ behaviour. Big B tried to resolve the issues between the two but all his efforts were in vain. After some time, Tinnu and Madhuri called truce and she agreed to do the scene.
For the unversed, ‘Shanakht’ was supposed to mark Amitabh and Madhuri’s first on screen collaboration. However, the film could not meet its expected fate and got shelved.
