Nana Patekar’s Vanvaas Struggles in the Opening Weekend
Nana Patekar Vanvaas Box Office Collections:
Nana Patekar, Utkarsh Sharma, and Simrat Kaur’s family drama, Vanvaas, debuted in theaters last Friday. The film has recorded a low opening weekend at the Indian box office, while overseas numbers are virtually nonexistent. Anil Sharma’s return after the record-breaking blockbuster, Gadar 2, hasn’t really attracted an audience.
Vanvaas struggled during the opening weekend across all three days. It wasn’t a wide release, but the occupancy on Friday was even underwhelming for a small-scale release. The film opened with approx. Rs. 60 lakhs nett on Friday, indicating its struggle to attract viewers. The second day figures reached the Rs. 1 crore nett mark, but that wasn’t enough. On Sunday, the film continued its low run and added approx Rs. 1.10 crore nett.
Below are the collections of Vanvaas in India:
Friday – 60 lakhs approx.
Saturday – 1 crore nett approx.
Sunday – 1.20 crore nett approx.
Total – 2.80 crore nett approx.
Vanvaas Review: An emotional fatherhood saga, better than Gadar 2
The opening weekend total for Vanvaas is lower than Rs. 3 crore nett, which pretty much seals the fate of the film. It’s essentially an era of mass movies and event films, so a low-appeal movie like this doesn’t stand a chance even in an open week. Moreover, this film had to face the hysteria of Pushpa 2: The Rule, extinguishing all hopes of success. The film will conclude its lifetime business with a single-digit total, which means a “DISASTER” verdict.
