No delay in Shah Rukh Khan’s King; Starts Shooting in May 2025, confirms Siddharth Anand –

For about a week, there have been various reports regarding Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie, King, being postponed, but are they accurate? Director Siddharth Anand, who is keeping an eye on everything trending on Twitter, has hinted otherwise indirectly.

Yesterday, a report in MidDay suggested that King has been delayed until July-August 2025 due to modifications in the script. However, immediately after the news went viral, Sid took to Twitter, stating, “False again.” He then tweeted, “May 2025,” indirectly confirming that the film is set to start shooting in May 2025, as previously scheduled.

Prior to this, a media report claimed that Deepika Padukone would play the role of Suhana Khan’s mother in the film, to which Anand tweeted, “False.” 

A report from Bollywood Hungama stated that Deepika Padukone is not part of King, reinforcing Anand’s “False” remarks. They instead mentioned that Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa has been approached for the role and will portray SRK’s former lover in the film, as well as Suhana’s mother. All these remain rumors for now, but it will be interesting to see which one turns out to be true, as there is significant discussion about the casting of this film on social media platforms. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan in the negative role, while SRK is said to be portraying an assassin.
