Prithviraj Sukumaran To Be A Part Of Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Next: Report

As per the latest reports, Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran has been roped in to play the villain in this forthcoming movie.
Superstar Rajinikanth is currently gearing up for his upcoming movie with Leo director Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is titled Thalaivar 171. Fans are eagerly waiting for the ambitious project to hit the theatres. The movie has been grabbing the headlines regarding the film’s cast and crew. As per the latest reports, Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran has been roped in to play the villain in this forthcoming movie. There has been no official announcement regarding the same. Before Prithviraj Sukumaran, Lokesh Kanagaraj reportedly approached Malayalam star Mammootty to play the villain in this Rajinikanth-starrer movie. Lokesh earlier revealed that Prithviraj was approached to play the role of Harold Das in Leo, before it was finally offered to Arjun Sarja.
The announcement of Thalaivar 171 was made in September 2023. The film will mark the reunion of the hit film Jailer’s team — Rajinikanth, production banner Sun Pictures and music composer Anirudh Ravichander. Previously, Lokesh Kanagaraj was set to direct a movie with Rajinikanth in the lead under Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International. The project never happened. Now, he will be directing the mega star in Thalaivar 171.
In a recent interview, Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that Thalaivar 171 is not going to be a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) and is supposed to be a standalone movie. As per media reports, he planned to commence the shoot of the movie by April 2024. The final decision can only be made once Rajinikanth wraps up his 170th movie. Thalaivar 170 is directed by TJ Gnanavel Raja.
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s last movie was Leo, which starred Thalapathy Vijay, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Trisha, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, George Maryan, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand and Mathew Thomas.
Prithviraj Sukumaran will be next seen in The Goat Life. It is all set to release in theatres worldwide on April 10, 2024. Produced by Visual Romance, directed by National Award Winner Blessy, the film also features Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean-Louis, Amala Paul, Indian actor K.R.Gokul, and renowned Arab actors Talib al Balushi and RikAby in pivotal roles.
