Priyanka Chopra is among the leading global actress today. She has made her place through her stellar performances in various Bollywood and Hollywood movies such as Mary Kom, Dil Dhadakne Do, Bajirao Mastani, The White Tiger, The Matrix Resurrections, Love Again, and many more.
Although now she is a global star there was a time when she did not ‘feel pretty’ and up to the mark. She won the title of Miss India World in 2000 and spotted the second position after Lara Dutta. Eventually, she went on to become Miss World as well. It was the time when PeeCee did not feel most deserving as she was not ‘fair skinned.’

Recently Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra opened up about this fact and revealed that there was a time when her daughter was going through Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Her mother in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, said although as parents we never had any issue with her complexion other people taunted her which made her believe that she was not pretty enough.

Do you while growing up Priyanka never aspired to do what the quintessential Hindi cinema heroines did? PC recently opened up during a masterclass with Bhumi Pednekar during MAMI Film Festival for Film Companion and said she had a girl crush on Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi. She said she never ever aspired or thought to wear chiffon saree and look so dreamy.
Although she recalled doing the similar things after a few years. She said “I was in a chiffon saree, in Jungfrau, Switzerland, in a green saree. Obviously the guy is dressed in head to toe fur and I was in a blouse and chiffon saree and I was standing in a bucket of hot water for close up shots. And I am saying the lines like this, (chatters teeth) and on top of it there is a helicopter above because we are taking a helicopter shot.”
She further added that ” The glamour of it was taken away from me very quickly and I just started enjoying the medium of work and the possibility of what you can do with the characters.”
