The body horror flick features Demi, Dennis Quaid, and Margaret Qualley in pivotal roles. It received numerous accolades, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy role for Demi.
The Substance is also Mubi’s highest-grossing movie and is returning to the theatres in the United States. On its 18th Friday, it expanded from 8 to 481 theatres. It has hit a $16.8 million cume at the domestic box office.
The critically acclaimed movie was made on a reported budget of $17.5 million, and it has been performing well overseas as well. The movie has hit a $59.7 million international cume. Demi Moore‘s body horror now stands at a $76.50 million worldwide cume, therefore earning 337.14% more than its modest production budget. It is approaching the $80 million mark now.
