Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, after a four-year hiatus, returned to the movies last year. All his three films Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki emerged as a commercial success which is a testament to the fans’ love for the actor and that they don’t want him to stay away from the big screen for a long time. Besides the love and stature that the actor enjoys, he is also one of the richest actors in the world. However, Shah Rukh once claimed that he does not charge fees for his films.
Shah Rukh Khan, during his appearance on India TV’s show Aap Ki Adalat, said that he never takes money for acting in films. The actor added that he rather demands a hefty amount for endorsing other things.
Shah Rukh said, “I never take money for acting in films. I only charge fees for endorsements, events and live shows. I only tell producers to pay me whatever they wish, if the films do well (at the box office).” He added, “I don’t take acting in films as a business. This is the greatest thing that I can do to act in films. My biggest hope in my life is that more and more people watch my films and be happy, and one day I will make a film in India.”
It needs to be noted that Shah Rukh Khan, before 2023, witnessed a huge dip in his career. The turning point in his career can be traced back to Dilwale which was released in 2015. Subsequently, his films like Raees, Zero and Fan failed to resonate with the audiences, thereby emerging as a massive setback in King Khan’s career. He went on a four-year-long break after 2018 released Zero. The film also featured Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif alongside Shah Rukh. It was directed by Aanand L Rai.
Moving forward to 2023, the actor’s first release of the year, Pathaan, emerged as a colossal success marking a triumphant comeback for him. Following Pathaan, the actor delivered another monstrous success in the name of Jawan. Dunki, however, failed to create an impression in the audience’s heart but managed to become a commercial success.
