Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again releases on the occasion of Diwali.

Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Again is set to release this weekend. The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, boasts of a stellar star cast. While Ajay is headlining the film, Singham Again also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. The Diwali release clashes with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The bookings for Singham Again have begun and News18 Showsha has learnt that the most expensive ticket for the film is being sold at Rs 2,700.

If the costings on Book My Show are to go by, the most expensive ticket for Singham Again is being sold at Maison PVR: Jio World Drive. Coincidentally, the theatre is also selling Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s tickets at Rs 2,700. While Mumbai takes the hat for the most expensive tickets for Singham Again, select theatres in Delhi-NCR are also selling tickets above the Rs 2000 mark. The most expensive ticket for Singham Again in New Delhi-Gurugram-Noida is being sold for Rs 2,400, at PVR Director’s Cut, Ambience Mall. These do not include taxes and convenience fees.

Singham Again is set against the theme of Ramayan. The film shows Arjun Kapoor as Raavan while Ajay Devgn’s Singham is a crossover between Lord Ram and Shivaji Maharaj. Kareena Kapoor Khan is the Sita of this cop universe story. He is supported by Tiger Shroff, who feels like a cut out of Lakshman whereas Ranveer Singh is based on Lord Hanuman. The film also shows Deepika Padukone and Akshay Kumar in avatars inspired from the Ramayan.

The film’s dialogue writer, Milap Zaveri clarified that the film’s Ramayan connection was not meant to encash on the Diwali spirit. “We haven’t added Ramayana to encash Diwali. This is a coincidence. Ramayan was in the script right from the start, even when we were not coming to theatres on Diwali,” he said, during an interview with Siddharth Kannan for his YouTube channel.

Zaveri added that Singham Again’s story writer Kshitij Patwardhan proposed to draw parallels between the characters of the cop universe and Ramayana, and Rohit Shetty loved it.
