Sonam Bajwa To Play Female Lead Opposite Harshvardhan Rane In Deewaniyat: ‘So Thrilled’

Fans were excited after Harshvardhan Rane announced his upcoming film Deewaniyat last month on Valentine’s Day 2025. While announcing the romance drama, he called it “intense, electrifying and deeply emotional.” Adding to the buzz around the film, Sonam Bajwa has now come on board as the female lead. The makers dropped the exciting news through a post on Instagram featuring a motion poster and a monologue in the background.
In Sonam Bajwa’s voice, we can hear the intense voiceover: “Tera pyar pyar nahi, teri zid hai. Jisse tu paar kar raha hai, woh har hadd ki hadd hai. Jal jaungi, mit jaungi, par khaati hoon main kasam—tere ishq mein jhuk jaoon, main nahi woh sanam. Tere liye mere dil mein mohabbat nahi, nafrat hai. Tujhe tabah jo kar degi, woh meri deewaniyat hai.”
The caption of the post read, “So thrilled to bring the fire of love to Deewaniyat! An intense saga of passion & heartbreak, starring alongside the amazing Harshvardhan Rane. Deewaniyat is set to go on floors shortly. The film will be released in theatres in the late 2025. Touted to be an unforgettable romantic saga, the film has been creating buzz ever since its announcement and Sonam Bajwa’s addition to the star cast only adds to the excitement.
Sonam has a lot of films lined up in her kitty. This year, she will be making her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer, Housefull 5 followed by a lead role in Baaghi 4 opposite Tiger Shroff. As fans were waiting for her arrival on the big screens, she dropped another big news in the name of Deewaniyat.
On the other hand, Harshvardhan Rane is basking in the success of her Bollywood debut Sanam Teri Kasam. The 2016 film was recently re-released in theatres and fans flocked to theatres to experience the romantic drama again. Pakistani actor Mawra Hocane played the lead role in the film.
Later, Harshvardhan also featured in films like Taish, Haseen Dillruba, Tara Vs Bilal and Savi among others.
