Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Box Office Collection Day 2: Randeep Hooda’s Film Doubles Up On Saturday
Playing at limited screens or even fewer shows, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar did really well and more than doubled up on Saturday. The film had opened at 1.10 crore, and on Saturday, the collections moved up to 2.25 crore.
In relative terms, this is quite good because to get this kind of growth is really good. That said, from the absolute numbers perspective, a lot is still to be done because everyone associated with it would be hoping for an overall good and respectable lifetime score.
This one is a niche affair and not one of those chest-thumping patriotic/nationalist affairs. You don’t expect to see those ‘seeti-taali’ kind of scenes in a core biopic like this. In fact, if the film can be compared with something, then that would be Shyam Benegal‘s Bose – The Forgotten Hero.

This, too, is a classy affair, and with a substantial portion of the film in English and then all the content being displayed on the screen also entirely in English, it’s primarily catering to the multiplex market.
This is the reason why the reliance would be on urban centers to further warm up to the film and keep the footfalls coming. The growth that has come from Friday to Saturday is impressive because it goes on to show that there is something in there for the target audiences, which results in enhanced footfalls.
Now, if Sunday also grows on the same lines, then the Randeep Hooda starrer can take further advantage of the partial holiday of Holi as well and grow on top of 3.35 crore that have been accumulated in the first two days.
Note: Box office numbers are based on estimates and various sources. Numbers have not been independently verified by Koimoi.
