That’s the first jarring note you discover in the Hindi remake: Chandigarh has a very specific vibe, and structure, none of which is visible in the film. The other is a story which, in its insistence on keeping the focus on the leading lady, makes everyone else’s arcs sub-par. This results in a film unable to keep a hold on the viewer.

All in all, U-Turn manages to establish itself as a fine watch, and it could definitely make it to your binge list for the weekend. In a genre that’s pretty over-crowded, this one’s not just another supernatural thriller and has its own flavour to it.
