Vijay Sethupathi Starrer Crosses 1 Lakh Footfalls In Previews Alone

Vijay Sethupathi’s Maharaja has finally witnessed its full-fledged release in China today. Before the grand release, the film had its previews scheduled for six days, and the response was impressive. In limited showcasing, it pulled off solid numbers, and in terms of footfalls, the film sold well over 1 lakh tickets at the box office through previews only. Keep reading for a detailed report!

Previews for the Kollywood thriller started on November 23. On the first day (Saturday), it generated a revenue of 1.09 crores at the China box office. It remained steady on the second day (Sunday), and 1.09 crores were registered. Afterward, the film maintained a stronghold, and it is learned that till Wednesday, it earned a total collection of 4.22 crores.

As per the latest collection update, Maharaja registered the biggest day in its previews yesterday by earning 1.18 crores. Including this, the total collection at the China box office now stands at 5.40 crores. This is a solid number, setting a sort of momentum ahead of its full-fledged run.

Talking about footfalls, Maharaja sold over 121,000 tickets for Chinese previews, and now all eyes are set on how it performs from today onwards.

During the original run, the Vijay Sethupathi starrer did a business of 109.13 crore gross at the worldwide box office. The updated collection stands at 114.53 crores if we include China’s collection. As word-of-mouth is positive, seeing whether the film crosses the 200 crore mark will be interesting.

Meanwhile, Maharaja was originally released on June 14. Due to positive responses from critics and audiences, it performed brilliantly in India and overseas. In India, it earned 71.30 crore net and was declared a super-hit. Even on OTT, the film enjoyed superb response and was hailed as one of the best Indian thrillers in recent times.
